We are delighted to announce that the house and grounds will be open from Sunday 16th August until Monday 31st August 2020.
Come and visit. This beautiful mellow brick house awaits you nearby. A family home with a relaxed and informal atmosphere, is full of history and has a magnificent Strawberry Hill Gothic Library and Chapel.
Opening times are from 2pm until 5pm every day during these dates. Last entry into the house itself for tours is at 4pm.
Entrance fees remain the same as they have been for the last few years:
Tour of the house and access to grounds and gardens: adults £8.00, children (under 14) £2.00
Garden and grounds only: adults £4.00, children (under 14) £1.00
For visits inside the house an audio tour will be made available via your mobile device.
There will be refreshments available to purchase in the tea rooms.
Covid-19:
We will be taking special measures to help ensure the safety of our visitors. Hand gel will be available at the entrance to the house and next to the tea rooms. Social distancing measures will be in place and entry into the house will be at 10 minute intervals per visiting group (e.g. family groups, relatives etc..) and a one way system will be in place to assist with social distancing.
Face coverings will be required in the house and other enclosed spaces and anyone without a face covering will not be allowed into these areas, apart from those who are exempt. Face masks will be on sale at £1 each if needed.
We will have a contactless payment system and will be able to take cash only with the exact money as we are unable to give change due to restrictions on handling cash.
Gardens and Stables:
Unfortunately because of COVID we are not able to open the fort or the tree house this year and we are unable to offer pony rides, however the grounds are available to enjoy.
No dogs apart from guide dogs as there are animals in the grounds.
